Date: 06.11.2025
Location: AKASHA Hub Barcelona
Registered on Luma: 29
Attended: 11 participants (3 return attendees)
Languages: Spanish (90%), English (10%)
Circle Lead: Marina
Participants
Attendees from Spain, Venezuela, Italy, Russia and Ukraine.
The group was a mix of developers, early-stage startup founders, and crypto enthusiasts — mostly technical, all privacy-aware, with several working on DeFi and blockchain infrastructure projects, some are just exploring.
Structure
- 6:30 PM – Welcome & Intro: short presentation on Logos movement, Logos tech stack, and the purpose of Logos Circles.
- Group photo (after consent).
- Round of introductions: names, projects, and motivations.
- Open discussion guided by themes: decentralization, privacy, funding, and governance.
- Giveaway: 1 Mozilla fest ticket.
- Networking: lounge music, drinks, and pizzas.
Topics Discussed
- Consensus that decentralized voting remains one of the most powerful — yet unsolved — use cases for blockchain.
- Concerns around usability, identity verification, and resistance to manipulation.
- ZK (Zero-Knowledge) technology highlighted as a potential enabler for anonymous but verifiable voting.
- Group proposed creating a small demo or simulation for the next Circle to showcase practical implementation via Waku + ZK stack.
2) ZK Tech & Transparency
- Deep dive into how ZK proofs could protect privacy while maintaining transparency in governance and transactions.
- Discussion on balancing open-source transparency with the need to safeguard sensitive data.
- Recognition that “Transparency ≠ Exposure” — a recurring philosophical theme among participants.
3) Startup Funding in Web3
- A startup founder and a participant launching a fund shared insights into how investors assess Web3 projects.
- Key takeaways:
- Investors are looking for clear use cases and real traction, not just tokenomics.
- Privacy tech remains underfunded but increasingly relevant.
- Community validation and open collaboration are emerging as credibility signals.
- Group debated decentralized funding mechanisms (DAOs, quadratic funding, reputation staking).
4) Building a Blockchain
- One participant shared his experience developing a new L1 blockchain — challenges with validator onboarding, token distribution, and network bootstrapping.
- Group discussed the tradeoff between decentralization and early-stage coordination.
- Mention of Nomos as an example of modular architecture designed to evolve without central control.
5) Exchanges & Privacy
- Shared frustration over centralized exchanges requiring invasive KYC.
- Consensus: DEX usability is improving but liquidity remains a barrier.
- Discussion on cross-chain privacy layers and the need for privacy-preserving bridges.
Highlights
- Atmosphere: relaxed, intellectually stimulating, with lounge music and soft lighting.
- Food & Logistics: 5 pizzas ordered (€94 total) — perfect quantity. Drinks were bought from the AKASHA Hub (with ice this time).
- Zines & Stickers: distributed to all attendees — 75% stock remains for next meetup ( Marco, a new Circle Lead, has them now).
Outcomes
- Identified Voting Systems as a “winning issue” for deeper exploration in Circle #4.
- Interest in hands-on demo using Waku or ZK stack to demonstrate verifiable anonymous communication or voting. People are interested in the workshop on how to run Nomos nodes as well ( when will be possible )
- A few participants expressed interest in joining the Logos testnet as validators and testing the upcoming Logos Core app.
- Plans to prepare three QR codes for next session:
- Nomos testnet validator waiting list registration
- Logos Core app alpha testers waiting list registration
- Logos newsletter / community updates
What We Learned / To Improve / Ideas
- Keep music before and after — helps set a warm, open tone.
- Prepare a slide or short visual introducing Logos Circle ecosystem — several new participants requested more clarity on how it fits into the broader movement.
- Implement gamification to help the conversation flow.
- Plan for feedback collection next session on the Logos Tech Stack concept — possibly a short anonymous survey or live QR poll.
- New idea: small “privacy stories” wall where attendees can post examples of privacy challenges in their daily life or work.
