Almost every aspect of human experience is now digital – our identities, our conversations, our transactions, and our coordination are online. Yet the infrastructure underpinning this digital existence remains fragile, opaque, and subject to external control. As people become more interconnected, the tools needed to secure our right to privacy and autonomy have not kept pace. This disconnect has led to a growing dependence on systems that are neither transparent nor trustworthy.
