New article: What Is a Network State?

In the first of Logos Press Engine’s “Learn” series, we introduce the concept of network states, explaining what they are, their origins, contemporary efforts towards this vision, and more.

Let us know what you think. Should we add something? Do you disagree with something? How can we make it more informative to those who have no idea what we’re trying to do? Or is it just absolutely fantastic and the author should be celebrated for generations to come?

Also, if you’d like to help us advance the network state conversation, please let me know. Comment here or DM on Discord - @0xbathang

Overall, really strong piece—clear framing, solid grounding, and thoughtful positioning. A few things stood out that I think are worth discussion:

  • The piece assumes some optimism—might benefit from helping readers feel the vision before explaining it.
  • Would be stronger if Logos’ values were stated clearly rather than implied through contrast with Balaji.
  • The tech is solidly covered—might be worth balancing with more lived-world examples earlier.
  • The Afghanistan section is one of the most compelling parts—feels like it could carry more narrative weight.
  • Curious what others think about the “human evolution” framing at the end—does it inspire or overshoot? Looking forward to everyone’s comments
