One year of the London circle: gapmap.uk is live
The 12th Logos London circle ran on Monday 27 July, 6 to 9pm, and marked one year since we started. Thirteen members came along, five of them for the first time, and some of the new faces went home with a copy of Farewell to Westphalia.
The evening centred on the launch of gapmap.uk. Twelve months of circle meetings, smaller group sessions and 1:1s held in private went into mapping what needs attention in British civil society. We did this work alongside allies from the Anglofuturist movement, who we first engaged with back in November 2025 after the House of Lords debate on ‘Decentralised vs Centralised Identity’, a debate that exposed how little grasp public institutions have of constructs like zero knowledge proofs. The method borrows from outcome graphs, decision graphs and gap mapping in scientific research, combined with the ideology behind Logos and the pilots of parallel institutions described in Farewell to Westphalia.
The site ranks 204 gaps and lists 115 resources for building solutions with decentralised, open source technology. It also sets out the 11 outcomes we want to reach. Each gap carries an urgency score, a resolver category (build without waiting for permission, build with a willing organisation/institution, or push the state through policy work) and a timeline between six months and seven years.
We also presented the manifesto, first discussed at the June circle and drafted with several members. Those reading it for the first time said it matched beliefs they already held. Next comes a privacy preserving signing ceremony on Basecamp for anyone who wants to put their name behind the next year of work.
Two asks came out of the night and both were well received:

Scout technical partners and small teams who can claim gaps and start building. Over 50 gaps need nobody’s permission.

If you’re technical, form a small action group, build a pilot and present progress at the next circle.
A few attendees want to take the concept into academia. Others offered to improve the site content, which is currently heavily generated with Claude Code. Help on either front is welcome.
