Logos Circle - Warri, April

Date: 30th April, 2026

Location: Warri, Delta State, Nigeria

Attended: 9 participants (first-time meeting - no return attendees)

Languages: English

Participants

A total of 9 people attended the inaugural Logos Warri Circle meeting. The group represented a cross-section of young Nigerians from the Warri community.

Background breakdown:

• 2 participants - existing crypto enthusiasts with prior hands-on experience

• 7 participants - had heard of crypto but had little to no active involvement or interest prior to the event

• All 9 participants were new to the Logos network and its mission

Backgrounds:

Young professionals and community members from Warri with varied exposure to technology and finance. No developers or formal blockchain practitioners identified in this cohort.

Areas of interest noted:

• Understanding how crypto can protect wealth against naira devaluation

• Community building and collective action for local problem-solving

• Learning more about decentralised technology and the Logos ecosystem

Topics Discussed

Topic 1: Crypto 101 - Introduction to Cryptocurrency

Key Points & Insights:

• Crypto was introduced as digital money that operates without banks or governments

• The concept of decentralisation was explained — no single authority controls the network

• Participants learned that with crypto, you are your own bank: your wallet, your keys, your rules

• The blockchain was described as a public, permanent ledger that anyone can verify

Challenges & Open Questions:

• Many participants arrived with zero prior engagement despite having heard of crypto - bridging the gap between awareness and understanding was the core challenge

• Questions arose around safety and how to avoid scams - a recurring concern for first-time learners

• Some participants were curious about how stablecoins maintain their dollar peg

Action Items:

Live wallet setup session deferred to Circle Meeting 02 to allow adequate time and ensure every participant successfully completes the onboarding process.

Topic 2: Logos Network - Mission, Vision & Blockchain

Key Points & Insights:

• Logos was introduced as a movement to rebuild civil society through decentralised technology and collective action

• The four pillars were explained: Individual Autonomy, Parallel Governance, Privacy by Default, and access For Everyone

• Participants were shown how Logos differs from general crypto projects - it is a sovereign technology stack combining blockchain, messaging, and storage

• The vision of parallel institutions was discussed - building alternatives that work alongside broken state systems rather than waiting for them to change

• The global spread of Logos Circles was shared, including active circles in Nigeria, UK, US, Spain, Czech Republic, and Tanzania

• By the end of the session, all 9 participants had a clear understanding of Logos’s concept, mission, and vision

Challenges & Open Questions:

• Connecting the abstract concept of parallel governance to everyday life required relatable local examples

• Several participants asked how the Logos blockchain relates to Bitcoin and Ethereum - clarifications were provided

• Questions raised about how to get more involved and contribute to the Logos ecosystem beyond the Circle

Action Items:

All participants encouraged to visit circles.logos.co and explore the Logos community. Steward to follow up with resources in the group chat.

Topic 3: Logos Circles - Warri and Why It Exists

Key Points & Insights:

• The concept of Logos Circles was introduced: self-organising local groups that act as the human layer of the Logos network

• Warri was positioned as a strategic and culturally significant location to launch a Circle - dynamic, entrepreneurial, and resilient

• The 5-step Circle operating cycle was shared: Form & Educate, Identify Issues, Deliberate, Execute, and Scale

• Participants understood that this Circle is part of a global movement and their local actions matter beyond Warri

Action Items:

Winnable local issues to be deliberated at Circle Meeting 02. A full list of local matters arising was presented to participants as a foundation for next month’s discussion.

What Participants Learned

• A clear understanding of crypto and decentralisation - all 9 participants left with foundational knowledge they arrived without

• An introduction to the Logos blockchain - its mission, vision, and how it differs from general crypto projects

• A local community to grow with - participants now have a network of peers on the same learning journey

Note: First wallet setup and deliberation on winnable local issues are both scheduled for Circle Meeting 02.

Winnable Issues Update

No winnable issue has been formally defined yet. This is by design - the first meeting was focused on education and onboarding.

What was done:

A curated list of local matters arising was presented to all participants, covering four categories:

• Environment - oil spill & gas flaring pollution, erosion & flooding, waste management

• Economy - youth unemployment, limited access to capital, financial exclusion

• Infrastructure - epileptic power supply, poor roads, lack of clean water

• Governance - corruption, community voices ignored, communal conflicts and insecurity

Planned next steps:

• Circle Meeting 02: Open the floor for all participants to speak on the issues that matter most to them

• Vote on which issue to tackle first based on community priority and winnability

• Form working groups and assign clear roles, responsibilities, and timelines

• Leave Meeting 02 with a concrete, accountable action plan

What We Learned / To Improve / New Ideas

Things that worked well:

• Q&A session was lively and showed genuine curiosity - participants were more engaged than expected given their prior low interest

• Photos and videos were captured - documentation is in place for sharing

• The event ended on a strong, community-oriented note with participants expressing interest in returning

• Starting with crypto fundamentals before introducing Logos was the right sequencing - it built the foundation needed to understand the broader mission

Areas for improvement:

• Wallet setup should be included in Meeting 01 agenda next time - or given its own dedicated session with prep instructions sent in advance

• Aim for a larger group at Meeting 02 - 9 is a strong start, but growth is the goal

• Consider assigning a note-taker or co-steward to capture participant names, contacts, and key quotes during the session

New ideas to try next time:

• Crypto quiz activity - ‘Who Wants to Be a Satoshi?’ - to reinforce learning in a fun, competitive format

• Live wallet setup challenge - first three to complete setup get recognised

• Invite one or two local voices to speak briefly about a Matter Arising before the deliberation vote.

This is a brilliant first circle report! 9 attendees with 7 of them being totally new to crypto and leaving with foundational knowledge is exactly how onboarding should look

Really smart sequencing too. Starting with crypto 101 before jumping into Logos was the right move because most circles try to lead with the mission and lose people who don’t have the base context yet. The fact that all 9 left understanding both crypto and the Logos vision is a real win

Love the curated list of local matters arising across environment, economy, infrastructure, and governance. That’s a great foundation for the deliberation at Meeting 02. My one suggestion is when the circle votes on which issue to tackle first, push for the most winnable one rather than the most important one. “Most important” can be paralysing because it usually means the hardest. Pick something the circle can actually deliver on in 4-6 weeks and use it to build momentum

The “Who Wants to Be a Satoshi?” idea is creative haha, that kind of energy is exactly what keeps people coming back. looking forward to seeing what comes out of Meeting 02!
