Logos Circle Uyo Meetup 3.0 brought together community members, young people, developers, students, entrepreneurs, and individuals interested in technology, decentralized systems, and community development.
The meetup provided an opportunity for members to reflect on the direction of the Circle and identify a practical issue that could be addressed within the community.
Summary
Logos Circle Uyo 3.0 marked a shift in the Circle’s approach to community engagement.
In previous meetups, the Circle focused largely on training and educating young people, particularly around technology, Web3, and decentralized systems. While education remains an important part of our mission, members agreed that the Circle should also begin taking direct, practical action within the community.
After discussions around issues affecting Uyo, the Circle identified environmental cleanliness as an immediate and visible issue that members could contribute towards solving.
This led to the decision to move from primarily training youth to community cleanup and environmental action.
Shift in Focus
The Circle recognized that community development goes beyond knowledge sharing.
While training young people creates awareness and builds capacity, taking action on real community problems allows members to demonstrate the values of collaboration, responsibility, and collective action.
For this meetup, the Circle therefore decided to focus on cleaning up selected areas of Uyo and encouraging community members to take greater responsibility for their environment.
Primary Winnable Issue
Environmental Cleanliness & Community Cleanup
Problem
Some parts of Uyo face challenges related to improper waste disposal, littering, and poor environmental cleanliness. These issues affect the appearance of the city and can contribute to unhealthy living conditions.
Initiative Goal
To contribute to a cleaner Uyo by organizing practical community cleanup activities in selected areas while encouraging residents and young people to become more responsible about their environment.
What We Did
During the meetup, members moved beyond discussions and going to get the area for our first practical cleanup activities.
Why This Matters
The cleanup was not just about picking up waste.It represented a new approach for Logos Circle Uyo from learning about problems to taking action on them.
What We Learned
The meetup reinforced the importance of combining education with action.
Training and knowledge sharing will continue to be part of Logos Circle Uyo, but the Circle also recognizes the need to identify practical issues within the community and work together to address them.
Small actions, when consistently organized by a committed community, can create visible impact.
Next Steps
Going forward, Logos Circle Uyo plans to:

Closing Remarks
Logos Circle Uyo Meetup 3.0 marked an important transition for the Circle.
We are moving from training youth to empowering youth to take action.
The goal is not only to build knowledgeable young people, but also responsible community members who are willing to identify problems, collaborate, and contribute to practical solutions.
The cleanup activity was a simple step, but it represents a bigger vision:
From conversation to action.
From learning to doing.
From community members to community builders.
