August was a month focused on turning the ideas and community efforts from Logos Circle Ilorin into tangible impact. Our work this month extended beyond community activities into education and the continued development of SendHelp, a project focused on making emergency assistance more accessible and responsive.
SendHelp Development
A major milestone this month was the setup of the Supabase backend for SendHelp. This moves the project beyond being primarily frontend-based and gives us the infrastructure needed to begin supporting persistent data and more practical real-world use cases.
With the backend now in place, the next phase is focused on improving the platform, expanding its capabilities, testing it with more users, and moving it closer to being a reliable tool that can be used during emergency situations. We decided to host the communication features and AI agent features on the Logos stack ( we are still actively learning how to implement). Supabase is a very cheap option right now which is why we are working with it.
Education Impact
Beyond technology, the Circle also contributed directly to education, through our book drive.
Through funds raised during the month, we were able to raise enough pay the school fees of 20 high school students, helping them remain in school and reducing one of the financial barriers that can prevent students from continuing their education.
We also received 5 book donations to support students with learning materials. While the number of books received was lower than we hoped, it represents a starting point for building a larger educational support initiative.

Challenges
The biggest challenge remains funding. While we have been able to create meaningful impact with the resources available, the current level of funding limits how far we can take both our community initiatives and SendHelp.
For SendHelp specifically, additional funding is needed to support further development, infrastructure, testing, user outreach, data gathering, and the resources required to make the platform more useful and accessible to people who may need emergency assistance.
The limited number of book donations also shows the need for stronger partnerships and fundraising efforts around our education initiatives.
Looking Ahead
Our priority for the coming months is to move from small-scale impact to larger and more sustainable impact.
For SendHelp, this means continuing development, improving the backend and core features, expanding testing, and finding the funding and partners needed to take the project into wider use.
For education, we want to build on the 20 students supported this month by reaching more students and collecting more books and learning materials.
We have demonstrated that even with limited resources, Logos Circle Ilorin can create measurable impact. The next step is getting the funding and partnerships required to scale that impact.
