Topics Discussed

Introduction to Logos & Digital Sovereignty

overview of Logos as a complete stack for building network states

explanation of the three core layers: Nomos (consensus), Waku (communication), Codex (storage)

discussion of privacy-preserving technology.

Challenges & Open Questions:

→ how to explain complex blockchain concepts to non-technical audiences.

→ how does Logos compare to existing solutions people already use?

Solutions, Ideas, or Proposals:

started with practical use cases rather than technical architecture, Used analogies like: “Waku is WhatsApp that can’t spy on you” using the recent data privacy concerns.

Technologies Mentioned:

Nomos blockchain (Bedrock & Zones architecture), Waku protocol for encrypted messaging. Codex decentralized storage and Status app as a working example.

Local Winnable Issues for Logos Technology

we focused on realistic, achievable problems that demonstrated value

technology solving real problems people face, not just be philosophically interesting

Challenges & Open Questions:

How do we prioritize which issue to tackle first? What’s the minimum viable pilot that proves the concept? What resources (time, money, expertise) do we have available?

Educating High Schoolers About Digital Sovereignty (1st Discussed)

Key Points & Insights:

Critical need for digital literacy education in schools, students are highly dependent on internet use but lack understanding of data privacy and risks.

an opportunity to shape habits before they’re locked into centralized systems in transition to tertiary education.

also to issue blockchain-based certificates to students for completing a logos privacy onboarding.

Challenges and Open Questions:

which schools would be receptive to this?

How do we get buy-in from school administrators?

What resources/materials do we need?

Technologies and Tools Mentioned:

Status app for privacy messaging demonstration and Blockchain credential/certificate issuance (NFTs)

Suicide Awareness & Mental Health Support (2nd Discussed)

Key Points & Insights:

Mental health stigma is a significant barrier in Nigerian society and would make a huge difference in enugu if winnable (at least)

youth suicide rates are concerning, driven by unemployment, economic pressure, hopelessness with over 80,000 recorded just this year january, 2026 alone.

very limited mental health support infrastructure exists

Challenges and Open Questions:

what’s the appropriate role for Logos Circle - awareness vs intervention?

are there any existing mental health organizations we can partner with here in enugu?

how can we enable anonymous, privacy-preserving support systems

Solutions, Ideas, or Proposals:

:one: Build an anonymous crisis support platform using Waku encryption (if possible)

:two: Partner with professional mental health organizations rather than replacing them

:three: Create awareness campaigns to destigmatize mental health discussions

:four: Follow up those with a skill to navigate the opportunities in web3.

Technologies and Tools Mentioned:

Waku for anonymous, encrypted peer support channels, use Codex for mental health resource libraries, have a DAO structure for community mental health funding.

Action to be taken further;

  • Research existing mental health NGOs in Enugu for partnership

  • Identify mental health professionals willing to advise/speak

  • I’ll draft out a technical specifications for anonymous support platform

Highlights

Food & Logistics:

Refreshments provided: rice, salad and water, Venue setup: Classroom style seating for presentations, breakout space for group discussions.

Things That Worked Well:

presentation format i designed was engaging - with visuals that helped explain complex concepts

mix of technical and non-technical attendees created good balance

people stayed engaged for 2.5 hours - strong interest level which motivated me at the end of the Circle for more potentials.

also the attendees appreciated that we’re focusing on actual problems.

Areas for Improvement:

could use more hands-on demos during main presentation.

better signage/wayfinding to help people find venue.

would start 30 mins later to account for ‘African time’ arrivals.

New Ideas and Experiments to Try Next Time:

:one: Host working group sessions in between full Circle meetings

:two: Creating a lightning Talk format where attendees can present their own projects/ideas (5 mins each)

:three: Partner with existing tech community events in Enugu for visibility

:four: Create a "Logos video series” for people who can’t attend in person

:five: Host hackathon where developers build applications on Logos stack

:six: Build partnerships with universities for student participation and academic research

Few Questions to Address:

How do i sustain momentum between meetings?

How do we scale without losing the intimate, community feel?
