Our July circle was centered around getting members more familiar with Logos mission and updating them on what winnable issues were.

what made this session different was what happened when the floor was opened for winnable issues: five members stood up, one after another, and named a problem they couldn’t stop thinking about.

we had discussions concerning agriculture, software engineering, public health, civic advocacy, and education and every pitch reflected that range.

our areas of focus included behavioural accountability, food systems, access to knowledge, institutional corruption, and the quiet epidemic of kidney disease moving through Nigerian communities largely undetected and undiscussed.

Topics Discussed

Chukwuebuka — Goal Tracking & Incentives

A privacy-first accountability tool that rewards you for completing your own goals. No platform watching. No data harvested.

Lydia — Agricultural Support for Local Farmers

Food is expensive because farmers are getting squeezed. The pitch: build something that puts market information and access back in their hands and cuts out the middlemen taking the margin here in the east.

Muna — The Free Library

Knowledge shouldn’t require permission. An uncensorable, decentralised library built on the Logos stack where anyone can read anything, including banned texts. This one had the room.

Chioma — Following the school fees

Where does the money actually go? A transparency tool for school fee allocation in Nigerian institutions with anonymous reporting for students who can’t speak up without risking everything.

Trisha — Kidney disease is killing people quietly

Kidney failure is rising sharply in Nigeria and most people don’t know until it’s too late and most especially youths. The pitch: a targeted community awareness campaign that catches it early, when it’s still cheap and treatable starting here in our society (Enugu).

Here’s a more detailed dive in: winnable issues discussed in enugu circle.

Our Winnable Issue Pick

we are still narrowing down to one that is quickly achievable. with these five strong pitches and a decision framework comes next.

In the meantime, the Resource Library moves forward this month and other video contents which will be uploaded on our youtube handle.

meanwhile, a progress report regarding our previous on our mental health support, we went to the Federal Psychiatric Hospital to follow up with health professionals to understand more about the situation of the crisis in Enugu. We met with a head professional and we had a purposeful conversation leading to an establishment to further our partnership and other existing initiatives within Enugu as well.

we got the contact of an advocate from him who happens to work at a TV broadcasting agency (Afia Tv). after we concluded our meeting we followed up to know if she was available to come give a health talk but unfortunately she wasn’t but we made an arrangement to meet sometime soon and hopefully discuss a possibility of airing.

Our resource library is still in development and will be released soon, same as the short film documentary. we’re also making arrangements for the two private universities outreach.

Here’s a channel we created to regularly update the community making more contents revolving around our winnable issues and circle updates.

What We Learned / To Improve / New Ideas

What worked:

The open pitch format was the best thing the Circle has done all year. Giving individual members the floor to name a problem they personally care about produced energy, depth, and diversity.

What to improve:

The winnable issue has been in deliberation for a few months. A structured vote or scoring exercise at the next meeting is not a bureaucratic imposition; it is respect for the time and energy members have already invested.

What next:

to facilitate a shortlisting process before the next Circle, presenting the five pitches with a simple evaluation framework (impact, feasibility, alignment with Logos stack) so the group can make a final decision together. All five members who pitched to remain actively engaged through this process.
