Our April circle was centered around getting new members familiar with logos and the technological stack and updating them on our winnable issues.
next we focused on our winnable issue which is currently under significant progress. the short film documentary produced for community awareness has been concluded.
• the film is designed to communicate the Logos mission and its relevance to everyday life in an accessible, local context.
• It serves as a primary outreach tool to introduce prospective community members to Logos.
• distribution and screening strategy is ongoing as part of the broader awareness initiative.
the ongoing Logos testnet was introduced to participants as a hands-on engagement opportunity to contribute to Logos, 4 participants expressed active interest in joining the testnet.
Daniel (Technical Lead) provided on-site setup assistance for interested participants. Several participants encountered setup difficulties; these were redirected to the Logos Discord for technical support. Follow-up is ongoing.
We invited a mental health professional from the school to address the social and institutional relevance of the Circle’s winnable issue specifically, how data privacy and community support infrastructure intersects with mental health services in Enugu.
He confirmed attendance in advance but was unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances, his absence was noted and will be addressed in a follow-up rescheduling for the next circle.
Also a deliberate decision was made to hold the April circle at Borderless Tech Hub in Nsukka, the location of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN).
• The goal was to expand the Circle’s reach into the UNN student and academic community.
• Nsukka offers access to a concentrated population of tech-interested students, activists etc.
the main idea is to balance the preparations for our peer-to-peer (P2P) training session as one central component of our winnable issue and volunteer coordination are the current areas of focus.
with everything going to plan our we would achieve two winnable issues this month which is;
-
The short film documentary for awareness (concluded now in post-production)
-
Start a peer - peer training session within the circle members from a licensed therapist.
In our next circle we plan to get those we interacted with during filming to the circle for them to know more about logos and also reschedule with the mental health professional to come around so we could kickstart the training sessions within the next couple of months.
meanwhile, the anonymous crisis chat platform will still be undergoing framework development.
we would also roll out a mental health resource website to enlighten those who want to understand more about the current situation in Enugu and provide coping resources and also give an insight on the privacy chat platform being worked on and any other cause will be updated on the site as well (the supervised P2P training for anyone interested).
