Participants

The outreach was attended by six Circle members from Ede. The participants included young professionals interested in the decentralized web, as well as students from universities within the state.

Overview

This outreach marked the second educational outreach organised by Logos Circle Ede. Building on the experience and lessons from our first outreach, we continued our commitment to identifying and responding to pressing educational and community needs within Ede.

Following the guidance received during our onboarding call with Amelia and Pascal, we focused on making a practical impact within our immediate community.

We identified challenges affecting learners and educators in public schools, particularly limited access to educational materials and inadequate support for teachers. Since the regular school calendar had ended, we looked for an opportunity to engage students who were still participating in academic activities during the holiday period.

After considering several options and engaging with school authorities, we selected Ede Staff School as the focus of our second educational outreach.

Execution

Since the regular school calendar had closed, we specifically looked for a school conducting a summer lesson programme so that the outreach could still reach learners during the holiday period.

After several discussions with the school principal and teachers, Thursday, August 13, 2026, was agreed upon as a convenient date for both the school and Circle members.

As part of the outreach, we provided books and writing materials to the learners to support their academic activities. We also provided a small welfare package for the 16 educators at the school, including the Principal, as a gesture of appreciation for their dedication and service.

In addition to the distribution of materials, Circle members held short educational and motivational sessions with the learners. The sessions focused on:

  1. Making the Best Use of the Summer Holiday
  2. Striving for a Great Career
  3. Being Good Citizens and Contributing to Nation Building

The sessions encouraged the learners to use their holiday period productively, develop a positive attitude toward education and career development, and understand their role in contributing positively to society.

Although the available time was limited, we also took the opportunity to encourage the educators and appreciate them for their continued commitment to educating and shaping the next generation.

Overall, the outreach was a meaningful opportunity to engage directly with the school community and create a positive impact through education, encouragement, and practical support.

Challenges

  1. Funding:
As a growing Circle, our available funds were limited. Providing educational materials for the learners and welfare packages for all 16 educators placed considerable pressure on our available resources.

  2. Scheduling:
Finding a suitable date was challenging due to the closure of the regular school calendar, the school’s holiday activities, and the schedules of Circle members.

  3. Limited Time:
Because the outreach was organised around the school’s summer lesson programme, the time available for interaction and educational sessions was relatively short.

Solutions / Proposals

  1. Funding:
We propose establishing a structured Circle funding plan where members can make regular voluntary contributions toward community projects. We will also explore partnerships with local businesses, organisations, and individuals who may be willing to support future educational initiatives.

  2. Logistics:
For future outreaches, we propose partnering with local transport providers and seeking in-kind transportation support from Circle members and community partners to reduce logistical costs.

  3. Early Engagement with Schools:
We propose engaging school authorities at least 3–4 weeks before each planned outreach. This will allow us to better understand the school’s needs, agree on suitable dates, and plan activities more effectively.

  4. Improved Planning:
For future educational outreaches, we will develop a clearer activity schedule in advance to allow sufficient time for interaction with learners, educational sessions, material distribution, and engagement with educators.

Conclusion

The second educational outreach by Logos Circle Ede was a meaningful continuation of our commitment to community development and positive social impact.

Through the provision of educational materials, support for educators, and motivational sessions for learners, we were able to contribute in a practical way to the educational community at Ede Staff School.

The experience also highlighted areas where we can improve, particularly in funding, logistics, scheduling, and programme planning. These lessons will help us make our future outreaches more organised, sustainable, and impactful.

As Logos Circle Ede, we are encouraged by the progress we have made and remain committed to identifying meaningful needs within our community and responding to them through consistent action.

We look forward to addressing more community needs in Ede and beyond, while continuing to grow as a Circle committed to positive change, service, and community impact.

Two outreaches, two months running, that’s real consistency

Remembering the educators again is a lovely touch. Welfare packages for all 16 teachers, including the Principal, costs relatively little but means a great deal to people who are rarely appreciated. It also builds the relationships that make future outreaches easier.

Really proud of this circle’s consistency. Keep going
