Structure
- 6:30PM – Welcome, short presentation on Logos movement, the Logos tech stack, and the purpose of Logos Circles.
- Group photo after everyone´s consent
- Round of introductions: who they are, what they’re working on, and what brought them here.
- Open discussion guided by local issues and personal experiences.
- Giveaway for 2 tickets to European Blockchain Convention (EBC).
- Networking, lounge music, and pizzas.
Topics Discussed
- Private Communication & Tools UX ( winnable issue )
- Shared frustration that current messengers (even Signal) and VPNs do not ensure true privacy.
- Consensus that existing privacy tools are not user-friendly, which prevents mainstream adoption.
- The group agreed this is a key problem worth solving — Waku or Status (Logos Communication Layer) was suggested as potential solutions.
- Public Perception of Web3
- Concerns that ”crypto Twitter” and meme coins damage the credibility of the Web3 industry, pushing away serious builders.
- General desire to refocus on meaningful tech and real-world impact.
- Surrendering Sensitive Data (Worldcoin Case)
- One participant noted that most people in line to scan their eyeballs for Worldcoin in Barcelona malls were migrants from LATAM, not Europeans.
- The group discussed the danger of financial vulnerability being exploited and how incentives can override privacy awareness.
- Awakening to Privacy Awareness
- A participant shared that this Circle helped her realize the importance of privacy tech for the first time.
- She grew up in France without feeling surveillance pressure — the event made her rethink its global necessity.
- Banking & Financial Sovereignty
- Many attendees reaffirmed that financial freedom is what drew them to Web3 — owning their own money and escaping legacy banking control.
- Digital ID & Certificates
- Group discussed digital identity systems, both private and open blockchains.
- Consensus: Zero-Knowledge (ZK) Identity holds promise for privacy-preserving identification.
- Open Source and Privacy
- Debate over whether open source truly guarantees privacy.
- Mixed opinions: while transparency is vital, not all open-source projects are inherently private by design.
Highlights
- Giveaway: 2 EBC tickets (participants were thrilled).
- Atmosphere: Lounge music, projected visual, and informal setting enhanced the vibe and energy. Very cosy, warm and friendly atmosphere.
- Food & logistics: 8 pizzas + 4 bags of ice ordered (€155 total). Only 6 pizzas consumed → next time, order food after confirming attendance.
- Zines & Stickers: 20 zines + several sticker sets available; ~95% stock remains for future events.
Outcomes
- Attendees expressed strong interest in future Circles — next proposed date: November 6th.
- Identified a key issue worth follow-up: usability and adoption of privacy-preserving communication tools (potential to demo Waku at a future session).
- Event inspired new participants and deepened understanding of privacy, privacy tools and digital sovereignty.
- Future giveaway idea: Mozilla Festival ticket.
What We Learned / To Improve / Ideas
- Music before and after the session improves flow and atmosphere — keep it.
- Bring ice with us instead of ordering (apps are expensive and venue has no ice + all the drinks they offered were warm).
- Order pizza post check-in to match actual headcount.
- Bring paper cups (the venue doesn’t have any, only few glass glasses were available).
- Continue including short intro presentation on Logos tech + Circles purpose.
- Explore demo or showcase next time to illustrate practical use of Waku / Logos stack. ( we would need Guru or Vaclav for that )
- Idea: use next event for the feedback collection on Logos Tech Stack concept ( for Logos Eco Dev team). Briefly present an upcoming testnet and upcoming Logos Core app and give opportunity for people to join waiting lists for 1) becoming node operators for Nomos testnet ( for validators), 2) becoming alpha testers for Logos Core app ( for devs ). 3 QR codes has to prepared upfront.
