Measuring Impact & Strengthening Job Readiness Initiatives

Following the discussions from our May Circle, participants revisited the identified winnable issue around employment opportunities and job readiness for tech talents in Anambra.

The focus of this month’s discussion shifted from identifying the problem to measuring impact and improving implementation of the solutions already launched.

Key Points & Insights

What We Have Done So Far

The community successfully organized a Practical CV & Job Application Training Session which attracted over 70 participants.

The session covered:

  • ATS-friendly CV writing

  • Job application processes

  • Positioning for opportunities

  • Career readiness

Participants agreed that the session was valuable and addressed a major challenge identified during the previous Circle.

The Important Question

A major discussion point emerged:

“How do we know if we actually made an impact?”

The group agreed that hosting a training session alone is not enough.

True impact comes from:

  • Tracking outcomes

  • Following up with participants

  • Measuring improvements over time

Solutions & Proposals

CV Review Initiative

Participants proposed creating a structured follow-up process for attendees of the CV training session.

This will involve:

  • Collecting participant CVs

  • Reviewing submissions individually

  • Providing personalized feedback

  • Helping participants implement corrections

Google Classroom Implementation

The community agreed to use Google Classroom as a centralized system where participants can:

  • Submit updated CVs

  • Receive reviews

  • Access learning materials

  • Track their improvement journey

This approach creates a more organized and measurable process.

Impact Tracking Framework

The group discussed the importance of measuring outcomes such as:

  • Number of CVs reviewed

  • Number of participants who implemented feedback

  • Interviews secured

  • Job opportunities accessed

  • Success stories generated

The goal is to ensure that community interventions produce tangible results.

This is brilliant, Ken! Honestly, what you’re building here, training then structured follow-up then measured outcomes is spot-on. Keep it up, man!
