The June Circle started with reflecting on what we had discussed the last circle of may particularly the legal provisions there that legalize our operations within our community. As we had tasked one of our members to make research and find out if there would be any legal provisions that we would need to comply with and see how we can go about it.
We had this discussion, our member informed us that there would not be any violations of any law as long as we are not a political group or leaning or partisan, and as long as we inform the authorities of any action that we may need to take in public, quite a relief for us. The next on agenda was to take through the new comers through an understanding of what LOGOS circles is, what winnable issues are and this was quite simple because most of the new members that came had been invited by a person already in the circle who had given them context before they came.
Soon enough we got into one of the issues we had talked to work on and it turned out to be quite a giving experience, one of circle members is applying for a scholarship at Texas Christian University and this was a platform for him to gunner support mostly on the supporting documents he needed, one of them a recommendation letter, one which I gladly wrote having known him for a while now. Other members also promised to help in all ways possible to make his dream come true.
The application process of our friend, ushered us on to the topic we had talked about to help the transitioning university students with work related knowledge, we found two ways to move forward, the two university students who all are in the leadership structures of the university, each one of them was tasked to identify and secure us access to the university or class which we shall prepare a day to talk to those who will be willing about preparing for the transition “ university to the employment world” and we asked them to come with response by the next circle.
The other way was leveraging our structures, I happen to be the co-founder of web3 mates a community of developers that prioritized education, and so now together with our co-founder to engage different entities that would be willing to donate to our operations for education and open doors to more people, young people who would like to learn, reports on this will be shared.
One thing that we have normalized in our circle now is taking about how we have doing lately, and what we would like to share we call it “ a moment of vulnerability” this literally serves a purpose of helping our members have a place to feel comfortable and safe, a place to belong to, and so we engaged in these talks for the rest of the evening, in as much as some people joined in late, yes we still found a moment to laugh together which well is a moment worth an appreciation and so I would like to appreciate for constantly supporting these meetings.
