Topics Discussed
Topic 1 — Introductions and Logos Primer
We started with introductions so new and returning members could get to know each other.
A short introduction to Logos, the Circles model and winnable issues helped give new participants context before we moved into the main discussion.
We also recapped our journey so far:
-
Circle #1: identifying and discussing local issues
-
Circle #2: our first completed winnable issue — a beach cleanup and plastic waste awareness activity at Gokul Park Beach
Topic 2 — Our Next Winnable Issue: Student Access & Opportunity
Circle members had previously voted to explore the challenges students face around access to practical learning, guidance, communities and opportunities as our next winnable issue.
The issue we identified is that many students have the motivation to learn and build, but face gaps in access to practical learning, guidance, mentors, communities and relevant opportunities.
During the discussion, several of our own Circle members shared that they had experienced similar challenges themselves. This helped validate that the issue was not simply an assumption.
We were joined by Syed from Ageion Dynamic, who shared their ongoing weekly Build Hours and how they provide hands-on learning for people who genuinely want to learn and build.
We also welcomed Vikas from EduMoon, who discussed how their student community network could support outreach, surveying and future execution.
Importantly, the Circle is not trying to build a completely new learning or mentorship system from scratch. Aegion Dynamic already runs ongoing Build Hours that provide hands-on learning and support for people who want to learn and build.
Our role is to better understand the barriers students are facing and explore how we can help connect more students with existing communities, practical learning opportunities, mentors and other relevant support.
Topic 3 — Let’s Plan Together
We then moved into an open planning discussion.
The group agreed that we should not jump directly into designing a execution based on assumptions.
Our next step is to survey more students, particularly those from under-resourced colleges, and speak with students directly to better understand:
-
Their main challenges
-
What they want to learn or build
-
Their domains of interest
-
Available resources and gaps
-
What kind of practical support would actually help
Some Circle members volunteered to visit colleges and speak directly with students.
Initial commitments included:
-
Syed / Ageion Dynamic — mentor/speaker support and Build Hours as an ongoing hands-on learning pathway
-
Vikas / EduMoon — student outreach, survey support, execution and social media
-
Sai Kumar — support for organizing, documenting, logistics, and execution to make the initiative a success
-
Venue exploration — Syed and Vikas will explore possible spaces based on the eventual participant size
-
Circle members — support execution through volunteering and assigned responsibilities
Syed also suggested creating a separate community space for students participating in the initiative, keeping it distinct from the main Logos Circle Vizag group.
Winnable Issues Update
First Winnable Issue — Completed
Beach cleanup and plastic waste awareness activity at Gokul Park Beach.
Completed during Circle #2.
Second Winnable Issue — In Progress
Student Access to Practical Learning and Opportunities
Our Circle is exploring the barriers students face in accessing practical learning, relevant communities, mentors and opportunities.
The current focus is on understanding the specific gaps students experience before defining a concrete first intervention.
Current stage:
Listen → Understand → Identify the gap → Connect resources → Act → Measure
Next steps:
-
Complete the student survey and direct conversations with students
-
Review the findings as a Circle team
-
Hold a virtual team meeting to discuss the results
-
Narrow the issue to a specific, actionable barrier
-
Finalise one practical intervention based on the findings
-
Coordinate the relevant mentors, communities and resources
-
Take action and execute the intervention at/around our next Circle meetup
-
Measure how many students were reached and meaningfully supported
What We Learned / To Improve / New Ideas
What worked well
-
Starting with introductions and a short Logos/Circles primer helped new participants quickly understand the context.
-
Several members personally relating to the student problem created genuine discussion and buy-in.
-
Bringing together Ageion Dynamic and EduMoon meant the discussion was not only about identifying a problem — we could also identify existing communities and capabilities that could contribute to a solution.
-
Members were willing to take on responsibilities rather than leaving the initiative entirely to the Steward.
Areas for improvement
-
Convert informal commitments made during the discussion into clearly documented owners and timelines.
-
Set up and moderate the separate participant group space properly before onboarding students.
-
Track survey progress so volunteers can see collective momentum.
Conclusion
Circle #3 was not about announcing a finished programme.
It was about taking the next step in our winnable issue process: bringing people together, validating a problem, understanding what already exists, and organising around practical next actions.
Between Circle #3 and Circle #4, our focus is research, listening and planning. By the next Circle, we aim to move from discussion into action and execute a concrete intervention based on what we learn from students.
Our immediate priority is to listen to more students before deciding what the first action should look like.
Real problems first. Practical action next.
