Primary Winnable Issue
Environmental Cleanliness & Community Cleanup
Problem
Some parts of Uyo face challenges related to improper waste disposal, littering, and poor environmental cleanliness. These issues affect the appearance of the city and can contribute to unhealthy living conditions.
Initiative Goal
To contribute to a cleaner Uyo by organizing practical community cleanup activities in selected areas while encouraging residents and young people to become more responsible about their environment.
What We Did
During the cleanup, we spoke the community members need for a clean environment and how health tips. It moved beyond discussions and going to get the area for our first practical cleanup activities.
Why This Matters
The cleanup was not just about picking up waste. It represented a new approach for Logos Circle Uyo from learning about problems to taking action on them.
What We Learned
The meetup reinforced the importance of combining education with action.
Small actions, when consistently organized by a committed community, can create visible impact.
Next Steps
Going forward, Logos Circle Uyo plans to:
-
Organize more community cleanup activities.
-
Identify other environmental issues that can be addressed collectively.
-
Partner with local organizations and community groups.
-
Document and measure the impact of each community intervention.
Closing Remarks
Logos Circle Uyo Meetup 4.0 marked a great one for the Circle because it got interest from elderly people who recommended we keep making the environment clean.
The cleanup activity was a simple step, but it represents a bigger vision:
Logos Circle Uyo is committed to continuing this journey and creating measurable impact within Uyo and beyond.
o it’s great to see a specific location and the work done. And the elderly residents encouraging you to keep going is a lovely sign, that kind of community endorsement is worth more than most metrics.
