Attended: 12 participants | 8 return attendees (67% retention)

Circle Steward: Parzival | Technical Lead: @Light_stamp (Discord)

Participants

12 participants; developers, students and privacy advocates.

Focus Areas: Mental health support, NIN data protection, anonymous platforms, decentralized identity

Topics & Decisions

1. Mental Health Support Platform

Problem: youth suicide rising, no anonymous support and stigma prevents help-seeking.

Solutions Discussed:

an anonymous chat using Waku protocol encryption, Mental health resource hub on Codex, Community mutual aid DAO for therapy subsidies and partnership with professional mental health organizations.

Key boundaries established:

we’re building tools and support, not providing therapy. professional partnerships are mandatory, all volunteers need proper training and safety protocols before our next approach.

Approved plan:

Phase 1: resource hub (2-3 weeks)

Phase 2: partnerships reach out (1-2 weeks)

Phase 3: mutual aid DAO (3-4 months)

2. NIN ID Protection & Data Privacy

Problem: NIN data breaches, government surveillance, identity theft, no user control

Solutions Discussed:

Self-sovereign identity system, Zero-knowledge proof verification, NIN protection educational guide and a Community reputation system

Hey Parzival! Thanks so much for the very detailed write up. Love seeing the progress!

We have been discussing a lot about how advocacy and showing progress (via content and stories) can help turbocharge our efforts and get us early wins. Have you considered doing something like that alongside the awareness video you mentioned?

For example organizing a one off seminar, interviewing specialists, content around how certain types of platforms (that Logos can replace eventually) like social media impact mental health?

Just throwing out some ideas to see if it helps you all and keeps our momentum going.

I appreciate your feedback truly.

so I’ll give a progress report on what has been happening till now; the awareness video is already in production and I’m trying to make it more like a short film that captures stories, we’ve been trying to gather all the necessary information and interviews with those involved in the initiative which we plan to add as well, there’re some setbacks such as schedules with those involved but that shouldn’t stop our production which we plan to roundup before the next circle. (this month)

secondly, I’ve been doing some outreach to some mental health initiatives in Enugu more especially in the University of Nigeria which is located here of which I’m enrolled in and I got some positive feedback from the department of psychology.

Spoke with a with head of psychological services (Dr. Jeremiah) and he told me more about the initiative currently in the School and exposed me to alot of challenges which i related to and introduced Logos to him and how our winnable issue revolved around Mental Health.

He was receptive to it and discussed further about how we can collaborate/partner with them to do more in terms of intervention and awareness.

here’s a documentation of what i sent over to go through so we can decide on what’s next for us.

meanwhile, once i do get a positive response from him we should have a circle after and take things up from there.
