  • The participants included students in tech and medicine, software engineers, financial auditors and open source software contributors, all from India.

Topics Discussed

  • The need for blockchains/decentralization

    • What sparked the rise of Bitcoin/Ethereum (2008 financial crisis as a result of the housing market crash, the perception of the financial system being rigged/not working for the masses).

    • How current blockchain systems are decentralized/secured against another 2008-like event.

  • What Logos is trying to achieve

    • Identification of real-world local issues in order to take steps towards solving them
    • Further discussion of Farewell to Westphalia and implementation discussions IRL.
    • What is the current development pipeline / status of Nomos / the Logos blockchain? Is it built to support a wholly on-chain society that proves to be better than traditional institutions? If not, what is required to get it there?
    • How is the Logos blockchain any different from the Ethereum blockchain?

  • Next steps

    • Research these questions, find answers in discussion with the greater Logos community.
    • Identify local winnable issues to solve in the Bengaluru circle.

I am happy to support with finding the answers and I would also love to try to contact some of my ex-team-colleagues from Red Hat to see if they still live in BLR and try to convince them to join the Circle:) Ping me when you have next date!

Missed the first meetup due to personal travel plans, looking forward to the next one.

Let us discuss more about the above questions in the coming meetup and maybe try to find answers to them. Some of these questions are very broad in nature and would be great to break them down to identify what it is that we are looking for from Logos Blockchain.
